Aryx

Aryx please tell us a little about yourself.

Hey everyone, I’m Aryx from a small country called Slovenia.

How did you first get into electronic music, and what or who are your biggest influences to your music?

I first got interested in music production in 2007, when I heard about Freeform. Got some tunes by a friend and I think the first one was Aurinko by Alek Szahala, followed by Carbon Based’s Cyclone and many others followed after. By founding the ultimate electronic music to my taste I was so excited that I immediatley started twisting some virtual knobs and producing on my own. So for the biggest influences I’d definitely say the FINRG crew!

Where do you see your writing style and technique heading in the future?

I can’t tell much about my production in the future, only that I’ll try to improve it as much as I can and try myself with some darker stuff, I’ve been letting out.

What kit do you use to write your music, and what pieces of kit couldn’t you be without?

Reason 4 is what I use and most of the sounds are made by myself, I rarely use any other samples then percussion and piece of a kit I couldn’t work without is defenetly the Vengeance library.

Can you explain this graph?

I’ll make this graph explanation really, really, really short.
Statistically speaking, this graph presents 5 options, each option seems to be divided into let’s say rating of ten (it could also be amount though…). Obviously ‘Orange’ got the best average rating, followed by ‘Sideways’ and ‘Time’.

Let’s see this ratings closely:

Orange

Option 1: 3
Option 2: 6
Option 3: 6
Option 4: 9
Option 5: 7

Avg: 6,2

Sideways

Option 1: 1
Option 2: 5
Option 3: 10
Option 4: 4
Option 5: 7

Avg: 5,4

Time:

Option 1: 7
Option 2: 4
Option 3: 3
Option 4: 3
Option 5: 2

Avg: 3,8

The conclusion – try not to use too much time, use oranges! :)

What music do you enjoy when you’re not writing awesome freeform beats?

My second music choice would be Film music! It’s the only music besides Freeform, that sends chills down my spine. Hopefully Film music will become my main production someday, that is my wish, but for now I’m just quietly making pieces now and then.

Past or present, what artist would you most like to collaborate with?

I’ll name my top 3: Alek Szahala, Lost Soul or Betwixt & Between. There! I think everyone would like to collaborate with their biggest influences. Maybe that’s going to happen one day, but until then, I’ll try to keep my inspiration flowing. :)
